Literacy and Oral Language - Implications for Acquisition
Attached is a link to a chapter from the text "Handbook of Early Literacy Research" edited by Susan B. Nueman & David D. Dickinson. It's a lovely meaty article about the importance of oral language and storytelling to improve a childs chance to acquire a language.
